First Presbyterian Church is a vibrant Christian community where all are welcome, follow Jesus Christ, respect one another, and are strengthened and inspired through worship, study, prayer, and service. Each Sunday, we offer both traditional and informal styles of worship, in person and online, and throughout the week there are many opportunities for spiritual growth and fellowship. Each quarter we offer a class called Discover First for those who would like to learn more about our community. We’d love for you to join us!

What to Expect

Parking

We have plenty of parking, including several handicap accessible spaces on E Locke Ln. and guest spots in the parking lot.

Worship

Join us for worship in the Sanctuary or online at 10:30am or for a relaxed service in the Recreation Room at 5:00pm.

Faith Formation

We offer a wide range of classes for adults and children that are updated regularly.

Discover First

Discover First is our quarterly newcomer’s class for anyone who wants to learn more about FPC. Maybe you are ready to join our congregation? Great, this class is for you. Maybe you are still seeking and just want to learn a bit more about the church? This class is for you too! After the class, participants will have the option to become members. Adult Faith Formation

Faith formation is all about taking the next step forward in faith, no matter where you might be on your journey. Discipleship simply requires a commitment to learn more about yourself, the world, God, or Jesus. Outreach

First Presbyterian Church’s outreach mission is to empower children and families in the East End of Richmond. There are so many different ways to engage with and serve our outreach partners. Children

Our primary goal is for children to come to know God’s presence in their lives and to be assured that they are cherished and cared for as beloved children of God. We have Children’s Faith Formation every Sunday during both 10:00 am and 5:00 pm worship, and we always offer special opportunities for children and parents to connect. All children are welcome from four years old through 3rd grade.

Confirmation

Confirmation is the faith formation program for 6th and 7th graders, and for any youth who have not already completed confirmation. At First Presbyterian, Confirmation is a time of exploration as young people prepare to make a personal commitment to their life as a Christian and become a member of the church. Youth Ministry at First Presbyterian Church is committed to safe and authentic exploration of faith and life in exciting, meaningful, and creative ways.
